Our planet is our home

We are committed to limiting our impact on climate change, by following the science and making changes – fast.

Our planet – our shared home – is under threat from climate change. We want to be part of the solution. So we are reducing our climate impact by becoming net zero, which will mean we emit no more carbon into the atmosphere than we remove from it. Our goal is to achieve this by 2040, a decade ahead of the target set by Paris Climate Agreement.

This is a huge goal, and comes with many challenges. To achieve it, we’re following the science. We’re getting serious about measuring and reducing our carbon emissions, and moving quickly towards 100% clean energy in our own operations and those of our suppliers. We’re also committing to achieve zero waste to landfill in all our own operations.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

At Versuni India, our mission is “turning houses into homes”. But we believe “home” extends far beyond four walls – it includes our community, the natural world that supports us, and the future we build for all.

We are committed to acting responsibly across our operations, product lifecycle and supply chain – because we recognise that our shared planet is our home too.

Our Approach for India

We recognise the specific opportunity and responsibility we have in markets like India:

  • Local manufacturing, local sourcing: supporting local job creation and shorter value-chains to reduce environmental footprint.

  • Appropriate product design: appliances tailored to region-specific needs that last longer, require fewer repairs, are easier to recycle.

  • Inclusive community efforts: supporting homes and housing-security initiatives, especially in underserved communities.

How We Build It In

  • We redesign boxes to reduce size, ink-use, and optimise for transport.
  • We’ve partnered with SAP to implement the “Sustainability Control Tower” to monitor real-time ESG data across our value chain, starting with a pilot in Brazil.
  • Our product teams embed circularity, repairability and long-life design into development.
